About

The Little Explorers Montessori School offers a pre-school program in a prepared classroom environment for children three to six years of age.  The program is based on the philosophy and method of Dr. Maria Montessori.

Parents should understand that a Montessori school is neither a babysitting service nor a play school that prepares a child for traditional kindergarten.  It is a special cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child’s sensitive years between three and six.  During this period, the child is able to absorb information from an enriched environment.

The entire program of learning is purposefully structured with the child in mind.

Little Explorers Montessori School offers the following programs:
Casa 1 (Nursery Program)
The Nursery Program focuses on the following areas:
    • Practical Life Exercises, the beginning activities for all three to four year olds;
    • Sensorial Materials, which are used for all ages in the class; and
    • Academic Materials, which are presented as each child’s moment of interest in reading, arithmetic and geography is awakened

Casa 2 & 3 (Kinder & Prep)

Casa 2 & 3 program is focused towards academic learning skills.  Casa 2 is for children approximately four to five years of age and Casa 3 for children approximately five to six years of age.  The children are offered a wide variety of activities in language skills, arithmetic, geography, botany, group activities as well as individual one-on-one and creative art.

Unlike a traditional kindergarten, the Little Explorers Montessori School’s Casa 2 & 3 takes advantage of a child’s early enthusiasm for learning, and is the key to the child becoming a truly educated person.

 Objective

To provide the academic environment necessary to develop a proper intellectual foundation for learning, and understanding concepts and principles.

The Method

To create an environment that enables children to discover the world for themselves, allowing them to develop into motivated, fulfilled and responsible individuals.
