Our little explorers danced and sang their hearts out to the tune of popular Christmas songs and presented a short skit about how us Pinoys celebrate Christmas with our family. Family reunions start at the airport, where we pick up our tita or tito, kuya or ate, nanay or tatay who we haven’t seen in years; and how our Christmas is not complete without waking up very early in the morning to attend Simbang Gabi and eat bibingka and puto bumbong and sip a piping hot cup of tsa-a.
Colorful lights surround our barangays at night and vivid parols greet us in the morning. Our Christmas trees are filled with gifts for our monitos and monitas and who could ever forget that red envelope with cash gift inside. And on Christmas Eve, our whole family sits in one table, offer a prayer to God and share the sumptuous meal we prepared the whole day.
Truly, there is nothing like Christmas in the Philippines!
May tatalo pa ba sa Pasko ng Pinas? Di alintana, kung walang pera. Basta tayo’y magkakasama. Ibang iba talaga! And Pasko sa Pinas.
